SE was difficult to get out the door to school as usual this morning. I got a call this afternoon from her principal. It seems she forged my signature on her graded paper then lied about it.
She earned herself 2 days of in-school suspension. I didn't allow her to go to tennis this afternoon as punishment.
When I picked her up from school she'd been crying and continued to cry and deny the entire incident though we had proof. I don't know what to do. This isn't the first time she's lied about something and denied it. It's becoming worse. The things she lies about range from large to small, significant to insignificant. I'm troubled and perplexed as to how to help her with this. She gets angry when we tell her we can't trust her, but the fact of the matter is we can't. She has a doctors appointment and therapy tomorrow. Hopefully they will be able to shed some light on the matter.

- I'm the mother of two beautiful children with Asperger's and ADHD. My daughter's Asperger's is less severe than my son's. She attends a mainstream private school. My son attends a school where there are children with autistic spectrum disorders. My life is pretty much devoted to making theirs better. I believe a lot of children were misdiagnosed similarly to my son. He was orignally diagnosed as bipolar and oppositionally defiant. This infuriates me! If pyschiatrists would listen to parents and not just pull out the prescription pad things would be a lot easier. All the testing my children recieved was at my request. None of it ordered by doctors. If you want answers you have to be willing to look for them yourself, not depend on the doctor to do it for you. Sometimes you are your childs only advocate. You have to be strong and willing to fight to make sure his or her best interests are being taken into consideration. The artwork is a collograph done by my son. It features a robot destroying a city. It was done with found metal objects.
